Counter stance isn't really necessary! Actually I took it off a while ago! But Alerting shout yes is more for PVP, but I sometimes use it in DG's when healer is having a hard time or i.e when you run around in 4X4 holding aggro on the ranger and the warrior! I use it so healer dosen't have to worry as much about me!
